You are the Captain of Your Own Ship!
March 1, 2017
We all know Theodor Seuss Geisel (aka Dr Seuss) as an amazing children’s books author, but there’s a lot we adults can learn from his whimsical words. In honor of his birthday tomorrow, March 2nd, I’d like to share an excerpt from one of his books that I find motivating and I feel hits the nail on the head.
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…”
– Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
We’ve all heard the saying “you are the captain of your own ship” or some variation of it. I just love this quote by Dr. Seuss which expresses a similar message. It’s a great reminder that we can and we should take charge of our lives. No matter how it may seem, no one else is in control of your life. Neither can anyone else steer your ship for you. Anytime you doubt yourself or feel that you need someone or something additional in order to move forward on your path, remember these words…
You can do it. All you need is YOU! You simply have to Believe in Yourself & your Abilities, then Head Straight Towards your Goals with confidence.
